East Fork Branch Library Finding your way around a library that moved its walls
Wayfinding and a small identity refresh for a branch library that reopened after a refit that moved every collection, the children’s room and the front door.
We are a studio of six. Most of our clients run something physical: a ferry line, a branch library, a bakery, a market hall. We design the name on the door and everything a customer reads after it.

A new identity, livery and wayfinding system for a family-run ferry line that had grown from one boat to three, each with its own name, colours and timetable.
Wayfinding and a small identity refresh for a branch library that reopened after a refit that moved every collection, the children’s room and the front door.
A label system for a neighbourhood wine shop’s own-label range: one frame, one type hierarchy and a template the owners fill in for each new cask.
An identity and packaging range for a bakery opening its second shop, designed so the counter staff can pack an order of twelve pastries in under a minute.
An identity for a pottery studio and teaching space, designed to be pressed into the base of every pot as well as printed on class timetables and the website.
A name check, logo, type, colour and the rules that hold them together, tested on the things you actually print and build.
Labels, boxes, bags and the system behind them, drawn to your printer’s dielines and checked on press.
Sign families, pictograms and maps for buildings and transport, specified for fabrication and tested on site.
Annual reports, books, menus, timetables and the other documents people actually read to the end.
Sites that carry the identity onto the screen: design, content structure and a build handed to your developer or ours.
Three weeks to collect and review everything you print, post and put up, with a written report on what to keep and what to fix first.
Weeks 1 to 2. We visit, collect what you use today and write the brief with you. It lists every item the project covers, so the fee is fixed before design starts.
Weeks 2 to 4. Names, audiences and priorities. A short written recommendation you can share with your board or partners.
Weeks 4 to 8. Two or three routes, shown at full size on the real things: a box, a sign, a hull, a home page.
Weeks 8 to 11. One route developed and tested with your staff and customers, on paper mock-ups before anything is made.
Weeks 11 to 14. Guidelines, templates, print and fabrication files, and a check on site or on press.

Why our proposals list every application by name, and what makes one identity cost twice as much as another.
Notes from the ferry project on drawing pictograms for a moving deck, and on the signs we chose not to redesign.
Why every sign we design spends two weeks taped to a wall as a paper print before it goes to a fabricator.
Send us a short brief. One of the founders reads every one within two working days.
